     As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in Korea, Vietnam, Persian Gulf, Iraq, Kosovo, Afganistan, the War on Terrorism or Peace-keeping Expeditionary campaigns.
     Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in our country's freedom. We need YOU to continue the VFW's Mission to assist our country's veterans at the local, district, state, and national levels.

WHO WE ARE
     The VFW is a nonprofit veterans service organization comprised of eligible veterans and military service members from the Active, Guard and Reserve forces. Founded in 1899 and chartered by Congress in 1936, we are the nation's largest organization of war veterans and its oldest major veterans organization.
     With more than 1.6 million VFW and Auxiliary members located in nearly 6,000 Posts worldwide, the VFW and its Auxiliary are dedicated to veterans’ service, legislative advocacy, and military  community service programs.

Phil enlisted in the Army in 1965 where he served for years in Vietnam.  He became a graphic designer and has worked for the state of Oregon for 26 years.  He retired in 2003 and started the Cartoon "In-Country".  The cartoons reflect his experiences during his tour of duty in South Vietnam.

2024-2025 All-State Post

2025-26 All-American Requirements:
The All-American program exists to recognize exceptional leadership and teamwork, authentic accomplishment in membership growth, and participation in VFW core programs.
 All Posts who have met the following criteria as of June 30th, 2026 will be named as All-American Posts:
- At least 101% in membership, based on adjusted prior year totals. 
- Must have a Post election report submitted and be in good standing.
- Must meet the following Program Participation Criteria by January 31, 2026:
    * Voice of Democracy – minimum of one entry advanced to District judging
    * Patriot’s Pen – minimum of one entry advanced to District judging.
    * Must donate to Veterans & Military Support Programs Services, minimum of $125.
    * Must participate in the VFW Day of Service event held during the month of May and registered
       at todaysvfw.org/day-of-service/ no later than May 15th.
Participation may count as community service for All-American quarterly requirements.
The event must meet certain criteria aimed at making a meaningful difference in the community.

    * A Post must submit a community service report quarterly to their department for submission to           the All-American Dashboard.
       The quarters are July-Sept, Oct-Dec, Jan-March, and April-June.
    * Must purchase a minimum of 500 Buddy Poppies.

VFW POST 2033 AUXILIARY
   We have been authorized to start our  VFW Post Auxiliary and we need 15 New Applicants to get one started.

   If your Husband or Wife, Mother or Father, Grandmother or Grandfather, Brother or Sister served during a war you may qualify.
Applications for our Post Auxiliary can be found here.
 
  Turn in your completed Annual or Life Member Application to VFW Post 2033 at 301 Veterans Way in Woodville, TX 75979.

Lately, we have been asked about assistance with VA CLAIMS for Veterans, Deceased Veterans, Veterans' Widows, & Family members.
Our County & Post Veterans Service Officer is Martha Kimbrough can be reached during normal business hours at (409) 283-3751 which is located at 201 Veterans Way Suite 200, Woodville, TX 75979.
Tina Cleberg has resigned as a VSO due to health conditions and we suspect that Stanley Cleberg will be assuming the role as our Post VSO.
